Newborn Photography
- Babies are often best photographed between 7-10 days of birth.
- Since it is pretty much impossible to know exactly when the little one will be born, the best we can do is have a tentative date, based upon the baby's due date. Once the baby is born, we can firm up the session date.
- If it's not possible to do within the first 7-10 days, that doesn't mean it can't be done. Sometimes, life doesn't 'cooperate' with us and there's no possible way to get these pictures in the first 2 weeks. I've shot newborn photos as late as 4 weeks and they still turned out beautiful.

- Plan on at least 3-4 hours for the shoot
- It may not necessarily take that long, but it's always better to be prepared. I've had some sessions last only 1.5 hours and others that have lasted 3.5 hours. Figure it's better to plan for the worst (4 hours) and be happy with anything less than that.
- The baby is the boss - if he/she gets hungry, we stop for feeding. It's all about keeping the baby happy!!

- Location
- Typically, newborn shots are done in the comfort of your own home. Baby is most comfortable here as well as mom and dad.
- I will bring all equipment and props with me.
- Pictures
- The amount of pictures that you'll get from the session will be much less than any 'normal' portrait session. I guarantee AT LEAST 20-25 different pictures (but it's usually way more than that) - again, babies are unpredictable so plan for the worst (20-25 pictures) and be happy if we get more.
- Expect at least 2 weeks from the shoot until you see the finished pictures. I will put all the finished, edited pictures on a disc for you – for you to do with as you please. If you need help getting them printed, I can assist you with either doing that for you (cost based on size, medium, etc.) – or I can give you suggestions of good places to use for prints, canvas, etc.
- I usually take MY favorites and put different effects on those pictures (b&w, sepia, etc.) so you may have 2-3 pictures of the same picture (but that still only counts as 'one picture' of the 20-25)

- Siblings/Pets
- If there are older siblings and/or pets, we can TRY to incorporate them into some of the pictures as well (as well as pictures with mom, pictures with dad, etc.) Just remember...the more 'variables' we bring into the equation, the higher the chance of unknown outcomes. :)
- Cost:
- Minimum of 20-25 pictures on a disc and up to 4 hours of shooting = $200.
